Discover your gifts
God has always used ordinary people to do extraordinary things. When the first disciples shared the good news of Jesus, the early church grew quickly — and God equipped every believer with special gifts through the Holy Spirit. Those gifts helped them serve, encourage, and strengthen one another.
God is still giving gifts today.
Spiritual gifts are abilities God gives to Christians so we can join Him in His work. Some things you’re good at come from natural talent — things you were “born with.” But when you became a follower of Jesus, the Holy Spirit also gave you spiritual gifts to help you serve others.
The Bible tells us:
• God wants us to understand spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12:1).
• Every believer has at least one gift (1 Peter 4:10).
• We’re meant to use our gifts (1 Timothy 4:14).
• Gifts help build up the church (Ephesians 4:11–12).
• God has prepared good works for you to do (Ephesians 2:10).
You might wonder, “How do I know what my gifts are?”
That’s where a simple assessment can help. It’s not meant to label you or lock you into a role — it’s just a tool to help you notice what energizes you and where you naturally bring joy, strength, or compassion.
After you take the assessment, you’ll receive an email from Marjaana with your top three gifts and some ideas for next steps. You can try different ministries, explore, and see what feels life‑giving. Serving is meant to be joyful, not draining. If this is your first spiritual gifts survey at All Saints, we will invite you to a brief conversation to hear your thoughts on the results.
Remember:
Spiritual gifts aren’t earned or learned — they’re God’s presence working through you.
Approach this with curiosity and gratitude. God has uniquely gifted you to be part of His good work in our church and community.

God's Word on the gifts of the Spirit
Romans 12:3-8 For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.
Corinthians 12:4-7 There are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
1 Peter 4:10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
